Is WP Getting An Attitude?

Okay, I'm stumped... I know it doesn't take much, but wth?

I made a new page for my site, wrote out all the content, the started to add an image, but instead of the upload box, I got this:

Are you sure you want to do this?
Please try again.

WTH?

When I click the "Please try again" link, it takes me to another window, inside the first one, that has the 'new page' interface opened. I click 'add image' in there... and it does the same thing!

So, now I got two windows open, nested inside each other, both giving me attitude?

Anyone heard of WordPress doing this? I'm getting weirded out by this...

Any advice?

Hmmmm, usually when you get a message like that it's because you're about to do something stupid or dangerous like permanently delete some important files.

Very strange. Could you give some more details?

    that's the strange part.
all that I am doing, is trying to add graphics to a page I created (actually, I'm creating a page that I hope to have be the static homepage. Nothing fancy...
if it would help, I guess I can link to a screen shot...

I have no idea what's going on...

first image is what I get when I try to add an image..

    Second one is what happens when I click on the hyperlink;

Third one is after I get the same error on clicking the 'add image' in the smaller window, and click the link again.

    Timber,

Have you got WP's latest version? Cause this is a strange error.

Did you post this info in WP forums? Maybe a insider can help you with this.

Another question: is this a CPanel install?

Is it a new wordpress installation? If it is, there might have gone something wrong with the installation.

Yes, this was a Cpanel install.

No, the install is not new, as in done today, I actually re-installed wp on thursday or friday after it had previously been in another directory. I tried to 'transfer' the files and content, but... well, didn't work, so I had to re-create all the content from backup sources, non formatted.

I was able to add all the images fine, but now, I get that error when evern I add any image to any page. The only thing that pops out of my brain about what was happening directly before this started hapening, was I installed a Google Analytics plugin. But that installs the code into the footer, and shouldn't have anything to do with the images...
Anyway, I'm going to try disablilng, then see if it works again, if not, removing the plug-in's totally, and see if the problem persists.

    I'll let post the results.

well, it was a plug-in... I deactivated "Google Analytics 3 codes for WordPress" and now I get the upload image dialog box again.

Thanks for the help, looks like I added too many plugins...

        Thanks,

Ok MY particular issue turned out to be a WP plugin inside a zip file -- that's what prompted the "are you sure you want to do this?" message. I share my silliness in case it helps others!
