hate to ask, but I need a review

Hey everyone;
I know how popular it is to ask for a review of a site, but I am at a loss for what else to put on my site. I know I have to flush it out with more informative information, and be of 'more value' in google's words, get some quality traffic and therefore some conversions.

Any ideas on what I could add or suggest? I was thinking about a rating system for the reviews, but I'm thinking that's just window dressing. I think I need more content.

I am going to be adding a 'free lesson' section, but I'm having problems with size of the video's, they seem to be too wide to fit within the theme I'm using. I tried using the embed rezise, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Again, any advice, I'd love to start making some conversions from the site soon, as yet, it hasn't broken that bubble yet.

Thanks in advance

1st of all.... yummy , i like the style
2nd... i`m designer so i can`t give you feedback on sections or content

3rd.... the top menu ain`t showing on Mozilla.... it gets over 2 lines & becomes overlapped, my sugestion would be to enlarge the width of the site anyway, it`s way to skinny
then, i would go for a background pattern that has thinner lines & doesn`t scroll, or with scroll but fade to black
also, you might wanna take a look at the fact that the blog title is "stroke over", and not underlined..

other than that, i like the color scheme (maybe a red just a little darker....) & design
    good luck with it!

I know how to make it wider, but I'm afraid of all the div tags getting knocked out of alignment and screwed up completely. I've worked with css and divs before, but never with a php site, won't I have to make the adjustments in every .php file?

Also, with the overlapping issue, I'm not sure why it's doing that, it also does it in safari (I dont know if they're the same or not), but I can't find the mouseover script that tells it to overlap on hover, but I'm still looking for it.

But thanks for the feedback. I think I'm on the right track with this one, just not sure where to turn next...

the whole reason a .css file exist is for the situation when you want to make changes, you make the changes in just 1place. Php does not control the apearance of the site.
So if all the style changes were made from the .css stylesheet, enlarging it will be painless. if you made changes inside the .php or .html file via a wysiwyg editor, locally,.. then it might get weird . good luck!

Menu in IE is not showing. background is hurting my eyes a bit. I'd make it a little darker/transparent.

Your design is good i like it, but you need edit your menu at the top of your site, I can't see it. If you are having difficulties in changing it, try to uninstall your wordpress theme and install it again maybe it will be back to normal.

    Mate,

You might wana think about making your text easier to read for your user.

Keep the black background if you like,
but at least change your white text, to black on a white table background.

    just a thought.

I mean... how many successful sites, have white text on black backgrounds?

Hardly any, except for maybe social networking sites like mySpace where the
17 year old school girl has a black dark background, with GOTH crap plastered all over it.

    or pretty pink butterflies lol.

lol AJ... okay... I'll take into consideration... always a good morning when being compared to a goth 17 year old girl... The text vs background color was default with the theme... I could try yellow text I guess... or a nice neon green... Hmm...

I didn't think of it as a shot or anything... no worries... thanks for the feedback... If someone cant' take constructive critisim, then they shouldn't post publicly about a website imo.

Yeah, I've noticed that, but I'm not sure why that happens. It's actually on just about all browsers... It seems like the link jumps up when its .onmouseover... I have to find in the code where that's done....
    But thanks for the info.

    Hey Timber,
As you know, fix your header code to clear your button viz.
Your text is hard with black background maybe try a different font that is thicker. The red headers: create links to sales pages... Red makes you want to click on them automatically.
Add Video after your intro that autoplays to catch attention... GOOD Stuff that hits to your target market.
Lose the Diaper banner get banner that is relevant to topic... That stopped me from continuing!
If your goal is to get them to book lessons then put a button on the top of website that says: click here for lesson quotes! No one wants to read or hunt for the info..

    I hope this sparks ideas..
    Good luck

I wouldn't comment more than what the guys said above.
Just one tiny thing would like to grab your attention the video is too close to the text on the right. You need some padding on the right of the video to do that just wrap the object or video file in a div and add style inline as a quick fix.

      <div style="padding-right:5px">your video script</div>

      Good luck
