Hi Warriors,

I want to create websites for small business offline clients just for them to have a site that represents their services on the web. I want to use wordpress so that I can also do some SEO work for them in the long run. Do you know of any themes that I can buy or get for free it really doesn't matter that makes the site look professionally designed. I don't want it to look like a blog. I know I'll have to remove the comment section etc... but if you know of themes that I can easily work around to fit the clients' needs I would highly appreciate it.
Thank you.
Annie

You can also outsource that part of your work. Your customer can then specify a custom design for your designer!

By the way Mark, to get offline clients you'll need to hang out where they dwell!

      1. Get onto yellowpages.com (don't bother with the book - the website will indicate whether they already have a website or not. A HUGE timesaver!), and get busy with your dialling finger. Ask whoever answers if you can have a 10 minute telephone meeting with the manager some time later in the week. Then use that time wisely to give your pitch. Make sure that your pitch fully answers the key question of 'What's In It For Me?' and that you can cover the main objections they are likely to bring up.

      2. Get a business card or a leaflet put together that has a couple of examples of great work from your portfolio. Then get down to the High Street and door knock. Whenever anyone tells you 'Sorry, not right now', remember to ask them 'Do you know of anyone who might find this service useful?' People are usually very willing to share names of pals who they have discussed this with over a beer.

      Good luck!

Take a look at free-premium-wordpress-themes.com. Some very nice designs; no payment required. I think they make their money from advertising. Also, if your clients are creatives types like mine (artists, jewelry designers, writers etc.), you might like the funkier, more colourful designs at iyiz.com/wordpress-themes.

Disclaimer: I have zero affiliation with these sites. I just like to go through the stuff they're offering when I'm putting together my designs.

    Good luck!
