magazine template or design

Where is the best place to get a magazine template? or is it easier to get one designed. when i say template I mean a wordpress blog. how much to I pay for a unique design ? or is that a piece of string question.

    Yes, that is a 'how long is a piece of string?' type of a question...

    I'm sure you've already seen that there are thousands of free magazine designs online. But if you want to get a totally original theme, then just outsource it.

    To get you started, get onto freelancer.com and find one of the thousands of WP theme designers touting for work there. Prices will depend mostly, on which country they're in. In the US, expect to pay a minimum of $100 - $150. An Indian or Philippino designer may charge from $50 upwards, and be just as skilled in their work.

    Just be sure to check their portfolio really carefully, and use a watertight Non-Disclosure Agreement (loads of examples can be found on Freelancer.com and via Google.

      There are some in the Warriors For Hire section who can do magazine site designs, pixelcrafter is one who springs to mind. I think you may have to have the template already though, like a Studiopress one.

    Look for premium magazine themes that have good support forums and additional services for the developer to customize the theme further.

    I have used magazine themes from the following providers with great results:

      I'm with you Leon, Gabfire is a great Theme company.

      Their support is quick, and they have a few different magazine style templates to choose from! I have been using WP Advanced Newspaper for a site and love it. Feature rich, easy to understand interface, all the monetizing you could want built in, slider, video, just check out their site and see the entire feature list.

    Just Google, "wordpress magazine theme" and you'll see hundreds! There are a lot of magazine themes that are free and a lot that are "Premium" - paid versions. You have virtually unlimited options to choose from.

    I made the front page static and then added a few options to the sidebars.
