In earlier versions of WordPress you always had to disable your plugins before upgrading. Now you don't have to worry about that because you can bulk update themes, plugins and installations all in one place. During the updates your theme will be placed in maintenance mode so visitors will know you're making changes. You don't even have to deactivate your plugins.
3. New flexible default theme
I never cared for the Cubic default theme because it looked ugly and was plain boring however the new TwentyTen default theme looks professional and is very flexible because it allows you to easily create custom headers, backgrounds and menus.
