In regards to duplicate content. Would having someone copy their articles to your site get you banned for google? You know like for example a blogger that lets people posts his articles to different sites as long as they give him credit. Would those sites get banned because they have articles that he already posted on his own site?

A site would not get banned unless there are thousands of duplicates like it on the web.

When it comes to duplicate articles, Google usually indexes the top 3 that have the most page rank and de-indexes or combines all other duplicates in the search engine results.

    Hope this helps!

You might be banned if google receives an infringement notice, the best thing that can be done is put the source link at the bottom, that way it wont lead to trouble.

It's possible that you could get banned, unique content is always recognized by Google and it's a better approach for SEO.

no way you get banned for this as most of the people do this they submit the same article to differnt websites to gain traffic.

Yes, if the site content that gives your site a unique identity if the content of the site is duplicate then in that case you can get banned

From what I've read, you aren't going to be penalized for your content being syndicated on other sites, only if it is in multiple places on your own web sites.

If your content is going to be republished, you want to make sure it is indexed on your own web site first before it appears on other sites.

However, Google is not going to rank multiple sites with the exact same content for the same keyword phrase. If your goal is to have multiple pages listed in the SERP's, it's better to rewrite the content for the other sites.
