Hey Warriors,

I'm looking to make vids like kern's...

Aka:

1) good video quality and editing (got that part down)

2) up on site in neat player with controls

Can't figure out for the life of me how to get the darn Mac vids into a nice flash format with a player.

(it's not camtasia)

If anyone knows for sure how it's done, please share...

Not sure how it's done but one thing's for sure...
Frank has a TON of money get them made.

Actually, on a pc you can use Windows Movie Maker.

I'm sure mac has a comparable (and probably better) application.

      Hey lcombs,

Money is actually not the problem. I bought a macbook pro when he mentioned doing it on that. I'm willing to buy whatever it takes and pay to have someone show it to me...

I've done this recently. I made the movie on my Macbook using iMovie and screenflow (for the screen capture stuff). Then you export your movie in full quality quicktime .mov format from imovie and transcode it into .flv format using a transcoder. I use VisualHub, though this has sadly been discontinued (there are places one can 'find' it on the net though, I've been told - if not, ask in a mac forum for an alternative).

Finally, you put the .flv flash movie up on your server and play it on your site using the jw media player (google it).

Lots of the 'gurus' are using this player now. You may not even have to turn it into flash movie format (flv), I think it supports mp4. People use flash though as the compression is much more efficient = smaller files.

    Hey Spanish,

Thanks, that looks like it could work. I've got the macbook, screenflow and visual hub, so I'll give that a run asap.

    Thanks again
