Can anyone enlighten me to the html code needed.
I have WP sites which I have edited the 404.php file that if someone mistypes or finds a page no longer there it redirects to the home page.
Now I am trying the same on a standard html site but cant get it to work
I have edited the 404 file and even the 500 file, but dont know which files the server is accessing.
Basically there was a page xyz.html which I have now changed to abc.html.
What I was wanting to achieve is too have the old links in google for xyz.html when people click on them that they get the redirect .html page which in turn will redirect them to the home page.
I hope you get what I mean.
