I have a new Clickbank product just launched and will set up a blog to use to get traffic for the sales page.

Would you use the same domain e.g.www.myproductdomain/blog?
Or would it be better to have a completely new domain?

I'm really trying to understand the pros and cons of this

Thanks

Adding a blog to your site... helps you in a number of ways. Here's a few just off the top of my head:

1.) You can use it to increase readership, followers, and subscribers.

2.) You can add offers to your product and or other related affiliate products.

3.) You can add keywords in your post to build your internal linking structure.

4.) It will also let Google know that your site is active (if you post content regularly).

If I were you... I'd do both.

Just check out the Google's keyword tool and see what people are looking for that's related to your niche. Create more blogs to target the related traffic and funnel it back to your "money site" or send it to other offers.

Having multiple sites allows you to reach more prospects and build links back to your money sites. Just don't link them together if they are on the same server. You'll need a wide range of ip's (different hosting providers) to do that.

I'd put the blog on my main domain.. otherwise you're increasing the amount of work involved.

Sending traffic, backlinks, search rank and building value on one site will be quicker and easier.

      Thanks Guys

I think I will go ahead as I thought. I will in time use other sites to promote my sales page. For now I'll get the blog up and running.

Leave it on the same domain, so search engines see that your website is regularly updated, etc. The bigger the better!

A good idea is to link to the blog from the main page, somewhere inexplicable. That way Google can crawl the blog easily. it's also a good idea to do some backlinking to make sure you get indexed :-)

One benefit of putting them on the same domain is tracking organic traffic easier. Also the Google Webmaster Tools will show you how your organic impressions and click-thrus per keyword are doing all in one place.

I would put them on the same domain, mostly because it allows you to build up content on the domain you want to have the best rankings...
