Multiple Domains - Redirect Or Have Content Linking To My Main Website?

Hi,

I have 2 domains based on tourism and currently i have my main domain with my website and another domain I have which simply redirects to my main website but I was thinking should I build a website on the redirected domain and have it linking back to my main website instead of it just simply redirecting to it?

I am just thinking what would be best to get ranked higher in Google and what Google finds friendly.

Many thanks
Jamie

If I were you, I would build a website for the other domain and link to your main site. At least, you would generate a few backlinks from there.

Just a quick tip on backlinks... make sure that your domains have different IP Addresses... otherwise your backlinks will not count!

The different ip addresses for backlinks idea has no credibility that I have seen,do you think 100 backilinks from blogger or facebook for example would only count as one link?

It is my understanding that having lots of backlinks from a website that is hosted on one IP Address, search engines like Google will only count this as one backlink.

In regard to large websites like facebook they operate from many IP Addresses...

if you comments on 1 forum (=1 domain) and the thread has nice traffic and shared via social networks, i believe you'll get more than 1 backlink from 1 domain... what do u say guys?

Having content link is bad thing in terms of pagerank and SEO ..

While building backlinks check that IP address of your domains is different otherwise the Search engines will not count them as backlinks.
