As the title says, from a design point of view, in terms of ease of modifications and adaptation to the design of the page layout and graphics. Would you go for the HTML version of a package or the Wordpress version of the product. Now, I have not purchased a website pack before so I don't know what the actual difference is between the two, but I assume there are differemce since theres a price difference between the two types that I have my eye on. HTML PACK WP PACK Can anyone tell me what the advantage is of getting one over the other? |

I am moving back to HTML because it is a lot more powerful now. Think of all the HTML 5.0 power. Well, what can we say. It is never like sunny every day, but you get some rain. Worpdress is one of the best blogger platforms we can use. However, it is sitting on top of a massive mysql database that is a resource pig. Web hosting firms know that WP is very CPU intensive so they can shut you down like zap. People, once you start getting some real traffic coming to your site you will have to get shut down and I mean zap. I wish to repeat - Once you start having some traffic coming to your site you will have some major resource issues. |

If you were to go from WordPress to a HTML site you would lose a lot of features, which in my eyes is the wrong way to go. If you were to change you want to be moving to something with more features. Regarding WP being a resource hog; if you get the right package and a good host you will be absolutely fine. |

That's quite interesting to know and seeing two opposite responses makes it difficukt to decide. :P I will have to do a little reserach on both version of the website packs to figure out whichis more suitable. I didn't realise that WP was a really big resource hog. |

Yep, definitely much more difficult now! Have a look at WordPress' features and consider whether you need them. If you have a good host don't worry about the resource usage. You have to also remember that HTML on its own is NOT anywhere near as powerful as PHP (which WordPress uses). This means you will not be able to get a lot of the features in WP by using simply PHP. WordPress does actually use HTML but it's PHP that make the difference. |

What I'm after is for the site to be very much multimedia oriented so I would like to have extra features if possible. I guess I'll just go with WP and HG as a host and all should be ok hopefully :P
