Hey everyone, I am looking for a bit of a refresh and was wondering how you all keep your assets organized.

How do you keep all the template you have organized ?

How do you keep all your Graphic Assets Organized, Both WebReady and PSD, AI or Firework Files ?

How Do you keep all your Audio and Video Files Organized.

Now this just becomes a huge issue for me, especially when it comes to Graphic Assets, like Button Sets, Back Grounds, Textures, Images, Whatever.

I am wondering how effective Bridge really is for everyone, the amount of time it takes me to have the system reupdate everything is mind numbing..

I use Mac's as I would assume many on here do.., Has anyone used and had any luck with Adobe Lightroom ? or any other soltuions.

And keeping my Library of templates organized and cataloged can be and exercise in absolute frustration.

Looking for any help, and advise.

Thanks

I'd love to hear people's suggestions here, I'm sure I could benefit.

I have a simple system for my stock art. I keep them in separate folders grouped by vendor (istockphoto, sxc, crestock, etc...) and type (vector or bitmap), and year. I use Bridge to browse them. Might not be the most efficient, as I have thousands of those files, but it works pretty well for me.

The graphics I use for my web design I keep in project folders. I had a 1TB external hd, so I have no problem making duplicates of the originals for each project.

    Hey Guys,

    Keep it simple.

Create a template folder you will use for every project.

    Inside create these folders:

    content

    purchased images

    free software (scripts)

    paid software (scripts)

    psd files

morgue file (file for all misc files during project such as: scanned images, customer source images, images you find on the internet, etc)

    html-(nameofproject)

    (FOLDERS INSIDE HTML FOLDER):
    images
    css
    js

OK this is just a simple layout for what I use for every project. What you want to do is create this in advanced so that every project is the same ( copy and paste )

Expand this into creating templates for PSD files, HTML files, CSS files, etc and you can build your own custom template for beginning a website.

    Hope this helps,

    -Ryan
