Hi all, this is my first time posting to this part of WF.

I need to make a jpeg of a screen shot.

I know how to do this already, Alt + Prnt Scrn
paste into paint.exe w/ Ctrl + V
save as .jpeg

what I want to do and not sure if this is the correct part of the forum to ask is this:

It's a screen shot of actual Google SERP page of exactly where I wrangled a top spot in Google for the keyword phrase: frederick md printing

Ok, what I want to know is what is the keyboard shortcut to highlite TWO or more entries?

I wanna save the screen shot depicting TWO highlited areas and upload to flickr.

You see, I do SEO for local Frederick MD businesses using what I learned here on this forum: Maryland Search Engine Optimization

Problem is I got him more than one spot in Google:

At the top of the organic serps there is Local business results for _____ in Frederick MD

And I got my clients this entry:

Now when you're selecting stuff from a form with check boxes like in a web directory, you can hold the shift button and choose more than one option

is there a way to highlight more than one place on a browser before I save it to paint.exe?

thanks

    David,

You may find it better to use an application which provides you with more options when doing screencaptures. The Windows inbuilt screencapture is fairly basic as you've already found out.

I am not sure whether it will be the answer or not to all your requirements but I have used a free utility for some years called MW Snap. You can get it from here - Free Software of Mirek Wojtowicz

    Hope this is helpful.

Firstly, you not have known this but when taking a screetshot you dont need to press ALT, just the prnt scrn or print screen button on your keyboard.

if you put the screenshot into photoshop i can tell you how to then highlight anything after you have taken the screenshot.

or an alternative would be to just underline it in paint, but that may appear un-professional.

If you have Vista, you can use the Snipping Tool to take the screen capture (or just a specific area of the screen) and then use the highlighter to highlight what you want directly on the screen cap. Then you can save the image as a jpg.

The Snipping Tool is hidden away in the programs/accessories folder...

      Good luck!

I use a Firefox extension called Screengrab, it allows you save or copy either the entire screen, or any portion you select.
