I'm an artist and educator, and have reached a stage of my career where I would like to market my work. This is the reason I'm here and have been studying as much as I can find on the subject of web design. Since I'm pretty new to this subject, I have decided to try web templates. I purchased a very attractive one designed by allwebco, the kind that uses flash to create a photo gallery on the home page. Unfortunately, I have since learned that they may not do well with the search engines. Before I waste a great deal of time loading it up with my information, I'd like to get your opinion. Do you think a flash web site is hopeless with search results? Can you recommend the type of web template that I should purchase? Thanks!

    I would think that a wordpress portfolio gallery would work best.......

      I would try the software called Content Slideshow. It's easy to add to your sites and can also be read and indexed by all the major search engines.

    There is plenty of wordpress themes which manage to produce a portfolio style look that would be very easy for you to edit and create your own unique style. I would seriously look into wordpress just for the easy of use.
