Wordpress framework...

Ok, I decided to give wordpress a shot, since I've been a Joomla fan for about 4 years.


Does every "child theme" have to have it's framework installed before you can install the child theme? It was the case with Hybrid Theme, I had to install the hybrid 0.8 framework file and then I installed the hybrid news file. Now I have another wordpress child theme, but it seems like a lot of elements are missing and I'm not sure if it's just a matter of downloading different plugins or if it's imperative that I download the theme framework itself. In other words, is it possible that the framework is a part of the child theme file in this case.

    If the theme is labeled as a child to another theme, you do need to have the parent theme installed for the child to work properly.
