Changing links in flash navbar

Hi all,

I'm building a site which uses a flash header template. There are 4 buttons in the nav bar which is the flash bit of the header.

Currently when the nav bar buttons are clicked they go to "index-1.html", "index-2.html" etc.

I need to change this so that they go to named pages - "pagenameone.html", "pagename2.html" etc

I don't have the software to do this myself.

Would this take much work?

What would a reasonable outsourcing cost be?

cheers

Tony

    Hi Tony,

    Do you have the original fla file with the template or just the final movie output file? If you have the fla. then it's fairly easy to do depending on the design of the fla itself.

    I'm fairly adept in flash and don't mind taking a look at this for you.

    All the best mate

    If you need to edit the template you need the FLA (Flash Movie Authoring) file. Send me over everything you have and I'll take a look for you.

    I have a Flash header (.swf) that uses two external files. One is Javascript to run active content, some kind of movement or animation in Flash. The other is a text file that contains the following.

    Code:
    name=EXAMPLE WEBSITE&slogan=This is your slogan&button1=HOME&button2=PRODUCTS&button3=FAQS&button4=PRIVACY&button5=CONTACT US&icon1=to main page&icon2=email us&rep=replay&url1=index.php&url2=products.php&url3=faqs.php&url4=privacy.php&url5=contact.php&iurl1=#&iurl2=#&enddata=1
    What I do is edit this text file with the new destination files like index.php or products.php if I decide to change filenames in the future. Is your Flash file like this? If not, I would investigate how to setup your Flash menu in this fashion. It makes updating and management much easier for the end user.
