Domain extensions

I am from a tiny little country that no one has ever heard about and we mostly use local domain name extension.
My question is, if you who are living in other parts of the world was to buy something from a homepage, would you consider the extension to mean anything in regards to buy or not to buy or do you think .com is the one?
