best way to set up wordpress multi user sites

hi

anyone here can direct me to the best way to setup wordpress multi user sites?

I have hostgator setup and want to make multiple sites ( not linked)

example1.com
anothersite.com
somethingnew.com
etc..

how to best do this?

I tried via installation with subdirectories but am not really able to correctly map those to the right domains..

help appreciated

    There should me something like "addon domain" in your account. This will solve your problem. If it doesnt then contact me back

    Follow the instructions from your host to add the additional domains to your account. (If you give me your host I can help you find those instructions. Install WordPress on each of these domains--if you don't have enough MySQL databases, you can either install multiple copies in the same database or upgrade your hosting plan.

    I can install WP on each domain for you for a small fee, if you find yourself having trouble, but there should be an easy way through your hosting panel. Just let me know... you can email me at lewatrous at gmail dot com

    I agree, that add-on domains sounds like your cure. Try that first and see if that is the proper technique that you are looking to accomplish.

    To use domain mapping in WP 3 Mu I think you need to install a special plug in.
