Hi,
I have been trying to learn HOW TO DESIGN WEBSITE; after learning how to use FRONTPAGE, a friend told me of the problem with frontpage when uploading or trying to add content to the site, and conclude that DREAMWEAVER is better.

Please kindly help me to state out the steps to use DREAMWEAVER to design website and upload

    You might easily find hundreds of DW tutorials through google.

    And wow, a good thing to leave FP behind, as in Internet time FP is equal to centuries back.

      First, start up Dreamweaver

      Click on "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Dreamweaver".

      Create a new file

      Click on "File" -> "New"

      .... Wait a minute, you're kidding, right?

        Try starting out in dreamweaver and using some of the templates for awhile then head on over to tv.adobe.com/product/dreamweaver/
        that might set you on a good path for awhile...enjoy. IMHO DW is by far the best editor and I would recommend it to anyone that is thinking about learning webdesign ( of course stop by w3c schools and lynda.com too along your journeys )

    Dreamweaver is not a dream, it's a nightmare. It's too complex to try to describe how to make a site, using Dreamweaver, within these posts.

    FrontPage no longer exists. If you were previously using FrontPage, you should have progressed to Microsoft Expression Web. Job done.

    Personally, I would have to agree with Indigo in that starting out with DW is a Nightmare!

    My guess is that 80 geeky kids sat down, putting the best of there minds together, to develop that software. No..., make 180! And my little peanut sized brain is suppose to figure out this complicated software???

    CSMC said it best, and is just what I did. Spent a good six weeks using the FREE service at w3c schools learning HTML backwards and forwards. My next step was to sit down with Lynda.com videos for a complete line of DW tutorials (25/mo).

    Presto!!! I can now figure out how to use about 7-10 buttons on DW with only one billion trillion to go!

    One other thought, I've seen a few computer stores offering crash courses, but we're talking bucks here... Wish you the best of luck with that software... Of course, the most important thought to keep in mind is to not give up no matter what road you take.

    You need to know the basics before you can design a nice looking site. Check out the link in my sig where it explains HTML and CSS in simple language. - webdesigncrap.info
