Hi Warriors,

I've been on the boards for a bit, but I'm making it a point to get more involved with the convos here.

I'm using Site Build it to build my website, but I'm HORRIBLE with HTML code. Does anyone know of a good HTML editor that'll help me build my website?

I want to create the site in the editor, then simply copy and paste the code into Site build It!

Save yourself the time and trouble by using content managment systems (cms) for your websites. The easiest to learn is wordpress.org. There is a learning curve to installing it on your server to getting it up and running but there are a million videos on how to get started using wordpress on youtube and the other video sites.

As for SBI, those websites are fairly cheesy by today's standards. However, they have some great marketing tools that insure that anyone can get everything right as far as SEO goes. But there are free plugins for Wordpress that will do the same thing. Also for the price of SBI you can get some great marketing software like micro niche finder or market samurai.

Also you can pm me and let me know what you are wanting to do and I could set up your wordpress site in a short time....call it a warrior favor.

I can already tell you're MUCH smarter than me when it comes to websites..lol. Thank you so much for the information. I've been trying to get the site up and running for the past 4 months, but it's ridiculously hard.

(BTW, I tried to PM you, but I don't have enough posts yet to PM...sorry)

I'm looking to create a landing page, then a page to sell my copywriting services, info products, etc. Can Wordpress do all that?

One thought comes to mind when reading your post Lee that I'm afraid I do not understand, why wouldn't you spend a little time going through the Free w3c schools?

Certainly something to google and look into. You can be an expert with HTML in no time and it's Easy and Free.

Forgive me if this does not help with Site Build It having never used them.

If you need help with HTML, there is an HTML forum in the Site Build It forums. Most code you need is built into blockbuilder so it may just be a matter of finding how to do things, or maybe a few extra codes. The helpful guys at the SBI forums will help with your SBI-specific questions.

Warrior is a general forum and as you can see, there is a tendency to drift to people's own favs. Don't get me wrong - WordPress is a great product, but SBI is there to help you build you business, not just a site.

This is how "green" I am to website building. I've never heard of the W3C schools. I couldn't tell you what that is even if you paid me. What is it?

    Hi

If you use Hostgator for your hosting, it comes complete with a neat little HTML editor within the file manager.

Its great for editing an existing site - rather than building one from scratch.

    Hi
Check out the recommendations in Site Central in SBI - they all work fine if you want to cut and paste code across rather than uploading - this is the process I use for an SBI site.. You may find it easier to work with one of the free editors initially as they have fewer bells and whistles.

      Yvonne

What free editors might you be referring to? The easiest sitebuilder I've ever used was the Yahoo! sitebuilder. However, to build a site on Yahoo!'s sitebuilder, you have to use Yahoo!'s hosting services.

You can Google "free html editor".
And use it to code... are you trying to learn html?
I would recommend going through the html section
at w3schools its a good read.

          Good call, Yvonne.

The reason I didn't recommend using a free html editor is because they have a tendency to bloat your code. If you use them blindly, they can actually create problems on your page and make it harder to spider.

The guys in the SBI forums would know this and help you find a code for your specific issue. It's better to hand-code if necessary, than to load your pages up with junk.

But there's coding built into block builder, so there's probably already a solution for you there.

If you want a free html editor download notepad++. Highlighting and auto-complete work well to help with learning.
