How do I make my parent categories "unclickable"?

I run my own content production company and recently paid a marketing specialist to assess my website and suggest ways for me to improve it. Needless to say, the changes are currently underway but I do have one problem that I cant seem to get round.
How do I make my parent pages in the menu unclickable? I am using the Ambrosite plugin but that doesnt work to make them unclickable since it disrupts the whole menu - so at the moment the dummy link is in place which works but I dont want the mouse to show that the parent category has a link at all.
Is there anyway around this?
