Best software?

I have an offline client that has requested I build a site which will have a storefront feel with social media integrations. Getting the social media involved is not an issue, but I am curious as to which web design software would be most effective since I am incorporating a shopping cart.

I have used lots of Adobe software in the past, as my background is in graphic design, but never got into Dreamweaver a GREAT deal, so I don't know what all it will let you do and what it won't.

Advice is appreciated. The budget is large, so I could put out a decent amount for the software if it meant keeping the customer happy.

    Do you know if you can incorporate Flash into a WP site with a plugin? I haven't tried it, but I haven't spent a lot of time looking either.

      Wordpress or Drupal.

      Yes, you certainly can incorporate elements of flash, have them output to an external XML file, say for a gallery or something. I would personally use JQuery for something like this instead.

      If you're a designer, this might be a challenge, the first website you convert from PSD to PHP typically isn't an online store. Wordpress would definitely be easier than Drupal, Mambo, Joomla, etc. to work with.

      However, in using Wordpress, you may find yourself subject to certain design limitations.
      Download an eCommerce template for Wordpress and explore it a little. I'd even suggest installing the theme and having it run somewhere.
