Hi Everyone,

I have an issue I need some advice on. I have a client that I am doing a more custom design job for , with word press. It will be 3 columns, and must be fixed width taking up the complete page. On the left hand column they want an image as the background with a graphic button menu bar. The page must flow seamlessly , as they want no boxes to show. I was thinking about using the flex theme, but can the width of the page be adjusted ?

I am looking at outsourcing this Job . So here is my question , should I find someone good at customizing wordpress or should I have my graphic designer design what I am looking for and have the psd changed into a wordpress theme ? As a side note I can not have the coding of the site messed up, as SEO will be the next step.

I appreciate all help and advice very much. I am looking at outsourcing this, so if you are interested in the project let me know.

That's impossible with a fixed width layout because different computers/users have different screen sizes, orientations, zoom settings etc. For example, a 'complete page' is different on my 28" wide screen monitor than it is on my laptop than it is on my old testing PC with a old 17" CRT. If you're going to outsource this and please the client you need to get this detail nailed down.

SEO has nothing to do with the coding of the site. Millions of #1 ranking sites have messed up coding, old style coding (think FrontPage and tables), have non-W3C approved hacks to get them to display properly cross-browser and so forth. As long as the site loads properly and can be parsed by the search engine bots you're fine.

Well by fixed, I'm guessing that they meant that the images and the layout should expand to take up the complete page.
