Hello,

The ultimate goal of my site is to sell my "Bed Bug Massacre" ebook.

My conversion is low, so I'm seeking some constructive feedback. I've got alligator skin so all feedback I welcome... don't hold your punches.

My URL is: www.BedBugMassacre.com

Thank you,
Joshua

You have no credibility with me - I don't know if your cure works, or even what it is. I'm not going to tell everyone I know about something that I can't vouch for.

You're not creating any kind of desire in me to see what you have. Most of your opening video is on how to share it.

Personally, I think you'd be better off collecting an email address as a price for seeing the video that you pre-sell in your squeeze vid. But in that pre-sell vid, you need to make me scared of bed bugs. Me? I don't have bed bugs.

    Do I?

Then in your sales video, sell your product.

P.S. I think maybe you should try to get the mods to move this thread to the main forum because this is a conversion question, not a site design issue.

If I were you I'd redo the video. Because the backdrop is kind of bizarre, and you didn't really demonstrate any knowledge of bedbugs. To demonstrate some authority dress doctor-like, but don't take to the extent of where you're calling your self Dr. Dave. Also, when people see the color white they think sterile, so that should probably be your backdrop of choice. You see it in pharma ads that run 24/7 because those things work. As for knowledge of bed bugs, use some sort of scare-tactic about their reproduction rate, the maximum number that can live on bed, etc. A dusting of scare will probably do the trick. Hope that helps.

@LovelyCornSyrup - some sound advice, thanks. I recall reading in a book recently about the white lab coat as a form of authority. Thanks for reminding me - I'll use it with your other suggestions. I appreciate your input. Joshua

I think both Steve and Lovely make some great points. Without authority I have no desire to share your link. I'd either create a different video as per LCS's suggestion or create an even more obscure video with images, text, possibly voice over to get people scared and wanting to learn more.

Is this page to market to marketers, ie to share your link or to "common folk" who you're ultimately targetting?

If it's to common folk I'd recommend what people have already said, if it's to marketers, I'd probably go over the benefits of sharing your message, ie aff commissions, whatever.

Does that traffic zombie banner have to be there?

@promo_guy - Thank you for confirming the above recommendations. It's got me thinking, I'm going to redo both videos and change up my sales funnel.

Yeah, you were right... this particular website (BedBugMassacre.com) is geared for ordinary folk. Good point on the Traffic Zombie Logo... I'll drop that from the page, just another distracting link.

      Updated Sales Funnel:
1st landing video: establish credibility > describe how easy bed bug infestations happen & ramifications > call to action = join newsletter.
2nd landing video: OTO opportunity to receive Chapter 1-6 of my book for free by sharing my site via Traffic Zombie.
      3rd landing page: home page

@SteveJohnson - Right after you recommended it, I submitted a request to support to move this thread to the main forum.

The words "Bed Bug Massacre" make me think of a horrifying scenario of a person being consumed by bed bugs as he sleeps. The bugs eat him alive, and so quickly that he has no time to get up and shake them off. In the morning, his loved ones find his skeleton on sheets covered with blood.

I'll go check out your site now...

        ... Ok.

This is messed up. The header image is bizarre and does not convey any feeling that your product is going to keep my family safe. I mean, it's bloody!!!

Next, I clicked the play button to watch the video. Really, at 45 seconds into the video, I'm being asked to share a link to the video with my friends, yet I haven't even found out what if anything you have to offer on the site. I understand you've learned this technique from some make money online product peddling guru, but you are not a mmo guru - you're selling a product about bed bugs (I think).

It looks like you need to reevaluate your whole approach.

When I went to your site, the home page is very confusing with an autoplay and some stuff about link exchange. I just want to get rid of my bed bugs not exchange links. You would be better using the home page tab as the front page. I never suggest anyone to use the auto play feature for their website. Why you ask? Because there are a large amount of folks surfer the net at work, when they are not suppose to be. So, even if there interested in your site as soon as they hear a bunch noise from the speaker (attracting attention from the office folks) they close the window quickly (not everyone knows the pause feature on youtube) Let me know when you have the site reworked over and we will revisit the subject. And why doesn't your site have a ranking yet?
