Creating Photo Galleries on Wordpress theme "Awake"

I am currently using the Wordpress template "Awake" for a photo gallery website. To upload each picture on the gallery, I have to create a "post" and assign it to a "category". That category "posts" the image in the assigned gallery. On the wordpress, on the post settings, all I need to do is insert the correct url's of the image on a data field box.

This becomes very tedious because there does not seem to be a way to create a post template with all the settings in common for evey post image , except the url. It would be easier if I could post several images at once, like a file uploader.

Does anyone know of any tool, setting or plugin that will allow me to upload all the images into the gallery at once? Or at least several.....Maybe a drag and drop application?

    Apparently nobody knows a "better", easier , faster way to upload pictures on the wordpress theme template "awake" via "photo galleries"........Now I have another problem: After I have uploaded the pics at their required size (about 900 x 400 pix) more or less....When clickin on the pics, They loop and loop and never display on their full size.....Very frustrating because this worked two weeks ago and it does not anymore!!! I have increased traffic on the site but not much ...HELP!!

    Instead of the built-in, use nextgen-gallery

    It's a wordpress plugin that I've found very useful to create image galleries.

      Thanks NextGen is a great tool. BUT I am also having trouble uploading more than one file at the same time.....Seems like the flash uploader is defective. I tried uploading several images at once from the Awake tools but I also had problems there uploading several files at once from my computer. Not sure what is causing this problem, but many people seem to have it.

        With NextGen there's an option to upload a zip file. so just zip your photos and upload them all with that feature... they'll keep organized by albums and with just a tag you'll show the full album where you want it.

          lordhyde is absolutely right it have really very good features that can be used to improve you blogging skills
