Cannot view my site
I think that i have screwed up horribly and i do not know why.
I am trying to upload a website (designed in Kompozer) to my account on hostgator using Smart FTP. This is where my problems begin. I thought that i had followed all of the upload instructions correctly but when i type in the website address i get the following on the page. Index of / .ftpquota 1076164_portrait.jpg 1083978_misska.jpg About Me.html Article 1.html Article 2.html Article 3.html Privacy Policy.html Resources.html cgi-bin/ guygetsgirl.html index.html.html Apache/2.2.10 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.10 OpenSSL/0.9.8i DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at seductionmethods.net Port 80 As you can see not the result that i had expected. Yes this is my first time. Any help would be greatly appreciated Regards Kim |

Kim,
You need to alter the name of the file index.html.html to index.html and this should resolve the problem. |

Yes, that will solve the problem
 Just rename it to index.html as stated above and your site will be perfect!

I remember the very first site I ever designed had the index page written as INDEX.html... after hours of wondering why I couldn't publish it I changed it to index.html (lowercase) and then it worked

I use Hostgator too, every upload index.html and overwrite old file, it will show index.html.html
so delete first old file before upload new file .. |
