Inserting media player into a WordPress post?

As per Paul Myers' recent recommendations on audio in a blog, I uploaded the Anarchy Media Player plugin, and enabled it. When I clicked at the post editor to insert audio, it uploaded the mp3 file, but the post only ended up with a text link to the mp3 - no audio player.

Okay, maybe that wasn't the right plugin for the job, so I uploaded and enabled the other one that Paul mentioned, CoolPlayer. It does exactly the same thing - uploads the file, then only inserts a clickable text link to the mp3 file. Heck, I can do that without a fancy plugin.

Obviously I'm missing some important detail, but I just can't figure out what it is. Any hints?

This is how i embed stuff into my postings

You will need to embed it into the actual posting, to do this i use a plug in called deans FCKEditor it is an actual wysiwyg but it allows me to use source code.

Just use an i-frame to insert your media. My current preference is using grayboxes. A little more complicated to set up but far better than than i-frame.

also remember when using media in your blog it will slow the load time just think about dial up users. So a text link is a good idea also..as the media will not load until the link is clicked..
