wordpress/website/hosting question

say i get a wordpress website going... can someone explain hosting to me in simple terms...I use my laptop in various locations, house, coffee shope etc, does this affect my hosting account? Is it a problem for website building?

    there is no problem with you, because your website will be hosted on your hosting provider servers.

    As Dexcell says, your website (Wordpress or any other system) will be hosted by a hosting provider. They will have a room full of computers and your site will live on one of them.

    Whether you go Wordpress.com (hosted by Wordpress) or wordpress.org (self-installed and hosted), the above still applies.

    If you're not very technical, the wordpress.com option is best way to start.

    So you use your laptop to login to your website and add content etc, but the site doesn't live on your laptop!

    Hi

    Hosting means storing your files on internet. So if you can access internet anywhere, then you can surely see hosting files.

    Wordpress needs few files to run as a website. Just like a software has files. As software files are stored on hard disk. Similarly wordpress files are hosted on internet, called as server.

    The hosting is the place where your website "lives".
    No matter where you are.

    Never thought a real Nerd never hosted...
