HostGator add on domain - trying to edit index.html but now showing up?

Okay so here's the issue. I purchased a baby plan with unlimited domains with Host Gator.

I figured out how to setup the first site and it runs great. Now I'm trying to add my second site. I used the add-on domain option and entered my details and it says that it is ready to use.

I know that my primary site is configured under public_html and my index.html is listed in the root of that directory.

My secondary site is listed under public_html/secondsite.com

I have created a simple index.html file in that folder location but when I attempt to view my site by typing in the www.secondsite.com I still get the godaddy.com pop up.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong here? I created the index.html file using the hostgator file editor and just typed in "site coming soon" and saved it back to file under public_html/secondsite.com/index.html

If you did it just now, then you need to wait for some time

Did you actually update your domain at GoDaddy to point the nameservers to HostGator? If not, you need to. If you did, and just did it recently, you'll need to wait a bit as DNS only updates every so often. Sometimes it can be as much as 24 hours.

Yeah I just bought the domain at GoDaddy and recieved the confirmation that it was purchased by GoDaddy. Weird thing is that the first domain purchased was live as soon as I saved the index.html wit HostGator.

With the nameservers if my previous domain was created at Hostgator and I pointed them to the server do I also need to point them again with the new site that was also purchased at GoDaddy?

Thanks for all the help you guys have give me.
