Is it posible to have a WP homepage then a link to a directory on the same domain?

Could I add WP via Fantastico to the domain then put the directory in a file called 'directory' or whatever within the public_html.

Then I would put a link from the WP home page - www.mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com/directory.

Is this right or would it not work?

I don't want to risk trying it without advice from you technical guys because I would hate to screw everything up - again...

Thanks

Karen

Karen, yes this is entirely possible.

Is the way that I outlined above the right way to do it though?

The way you have described it will work fine Karen, assuming that in the "directory" folder you have an index.html or index.php file. Otherwise the link (to myfile.html in that directory) is www.mydomain.com/directory/myfile.html.

The only restriction is that you can't name the directory the same name as one of your WordPress pages or categories.

First of all publish whatever site you want inside your public_html folder.

When you publish your main domain name inside your public_html, you will be able to visit your www.mywebsite.com.

Now what you need to do is create a new folder inside the public_html folder and install in that specific folder the new WP installation and that's it.

Did you get what I mean?
