I requested a document from my insurance company and it was sent to me by email, as a xml file. I tried to open it by IE browser, MS Word, Excel, note pad, but it opens as codes. I need to print this document, is there any way to open it in a readable format? thank you for your time.

    Hi there...

Here goes converting XML to .doc file.

    1) Open the XML file in Notepad or in your XML editor.

    2) Click on "Edit" in the file menu and click "Select all." This will quickly select all the content in the XML file.

    3) Right-click on the highlighted text and click "Copy."

    4) Open Microsoft Word and create a new document. Make sure that all the options in Word are set to the defaults.

    5) Click on "Edit" in the file menu and then "Paste Special."

    6) Scroll down to the "HTML Format" option and click on it. This will paste the XML over to the document in its natural form.

    7) Save the document as a .doc file.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry -- that's what XML IS -- is codes.
Go back to the insurance company and ask them for a version that is printable.
XML, like it's offspring HTML, requires interpretation of the codes to make it into a human-readable form.
Maybe if they can supply you an accompanying css stylesheet, then it would look like something other than codes.
