I am a non-techie. A newbie webmaster and use WTSYG to build pages.

I'll be completely honest- I am disabled, pn a fixed income and volunteer to help with a Non-Profit Org.

I have little money to spend but will pay for mentoring/tutoring on how to be able to get flv's to play on serverside with cut and paste or a code generation program for a website.

I have tried to teach myself using Lightbox and a code generation software but in the end flav does not appear or play on serverside page.

Will you consider helping me troubleshoot the problem and come up with an wasy dupllicatable method to play vids on webpages? I am open to negotiating for a low-priced mentor if you are out there...

I will make screen captures or short videos that can show you what I have tried to do thus far,,

I'm not after getting something for nothing that can make me a million bucks. I will be making instructional videos mainly to help viewers navigate a non-profit website and break down intros to the literature and services available for those with life-controlling problems to recover.

I am donating my time, energy and efforts to make this an easier experience for the viewers.

Can you help me? Thank You

Might want to check out Flowplayer or JW Player. Both are good FLV players, and pretty easy to integrate into your site.

Thanks for the advice Brandon. I looked Flowplayer before. But I did not know about JW Player. I'll have a look to see if I can have a go at the Installation.

I have tried a couple of Free approaches and could not get them to work for me. Maybe I'll do better with JW Player.

    Thanks again

Actually, Lawed, why dont you use, CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software --> opensource video recording.
And with that, u can use it to create your videos, and upload to youtube.com

Once you have uploaded it, then just use the video to embed it to your website.
    Hope that helps.

Yes I agree that would be the easiest way to do this. Except it is going to be a Private workgroup site not public. While in development the vids cannot be published in public. They are works-in-progress only.

But thanks for the great reply. I didn't include these details in my original post.

    Hi,
As a complete NEWBIE when it comes to uploading anything other than youtube and embedding, I can even resize them...but now wish to use floplayer as I know this is more professional than youtube for my site.
Ive looked at a lot of forums and flowplyer help itself, but am still left in the dark.

Is there anyone who could metaphorically take me by the hand and help show me what to do from where to store the video, how to get flowplayer on my site (self hosted wordpress jv press theme) Basically let me know what to do from square one. I can shot edit and make fairly good video and also need information on how to reduce it in size compatiible for the web.
Its for the relaunch of my web based magic news television site andIm going through a prelaunch preluanch phase. the BIG relaunch is on the 1st o 2nd January with the first episode going live on 15th January.

Can anyone please help, all this coding and where to put it etc is still an anathema to me

    Thanks

Brandon mentioned both the flowplayer and JW Player. Both great programs. I am not sure if JW Player has a free version or not but it is a pretty easy program to use, but a paid version is not cheap. Flowplayer does have a free version but in my experience can be a bear to learn how to use, I haven't used it for quite awhile so things may have changed. There is also easyFLV. I'm sure it only has a paid version but it's is pretty low cost and worth the money, very easy to use. Just do a search on this forum and you should find a link to it. Best of luck.
