SOLVED: Desiring Help With Getting An Image To Appear On My Site!

Hi, folks

I have a small issue I really need some help with. I'll try to be precise and to the point.

I am trying to place an affiliate product on my blog. I have done this many times with success.

I d/loaded a .jpeg image from the affiliate resources page I am promoting.

I have placed it in my files in "images" in the root of my domain.

I formatted my html with kompozer and copy/pasted my html directly into my widget box on my blog - done this many times, again with success.

I pointed directly to that file in images and it will not appear. Just an unusual little box. Not a red X as often happens.

I tried opening the image in a new window from that path by typing the path directly into the url bar on google, and it actually lists in "text" the exact path I just took, again no image.

I have tried converting the image to .png. No luck.

I tried opening other images from exact same location and path, some opened and some didn't. That is what is puzzling me - why some jpeg's open and some won't - same location, everything!

I did try to actually link to the image on the site owners page, and it appears - but I know that isn't the right way to go, and besides, I can't seem to make the image clickable.

I could really use some advice on this as this is as frustrating as a hangnail!

Can anyone tell me what i might need to do to cure this problem?

What's the syntax you are using when you type the path?

    Check these things:
permissions - all files should have read permissions,
FTP - make sure that you specifically upload images in binary mode,
Path - make sure you're using / to specify the path and not \

Is it possible to actually see the results that you're talking about?

P.S. Here's some default HTML to make an image clickable. Just fill in the blanks with your information.
    <a title="" href="" target=""><img src="" alt="" border="0"></a>
    Signature

    --= -Spazzle- =--

    THANK YOU, RAY

I knew it was something simple I was missing.

I thought my settings were right from previous uploads, but somehow I had uploaded my image in ACSII instead of binary.

Thanks so much for both of you helping.

Greatly appreciated, as i tend to spend too much time on little problems like this trying to figure them out, just as I did with this.

    Thanks again.

    Merry Christmas

    Robert
