WP and SEOPressor Help

I've been trying to figure out this issue for too long, so I thought I'd go to the experts. I've built a handful if sites already using this method with no problems, which is why I'm so frustrated I can't figure this out.

I'm building a website with WP and using the SEOPressor plugin. Every time I highlight a word in the visual editor and click to change that highlighted word to either h1, h2, or h3 (as the plugin suggests) - the whole paragraph that word is in changes to h1, h2, or h3, not just the one word I highlighted. I've tried going to the HTML editor and using code (example: <h1>word<h1>) to do this, but I have have the same problem.

I've tried deleting and re-adding the article and changing the theme, with no luck. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something here, so any and all help is greatly appreciated for this newbie!

Thanks,

Shelley~

Shelley, thank you for sharing this same identical problem which is what brought me to join this forum! I too, am seeking answers to this wierdness and did just what you did with the same result.

The percentage score and the built-in recommendations of the plugin are also erroneous, because I include my inbound link in every post and it still says I need to do so. Surely with all the reported Seopressor users out there, can we get a resolve here?

If your using SEO Pressor on hostgator your going to have issues. I had to deactivate it due to the heavy load on the servers. It's a very great plugin and helped alot but due to the resources it uses, I ran into problems. Also I had the size of the fonts go wonkie on me too.

        vegasfitness,

I posted my above question on the WP forum as well with no luck. What I ended up doing was, I separated a sentence from the paragraph with my keyword in it and made the whole sentence h1, h2, or h3. That seemed to do the trick as far as the plugin was concerned.

        Teriss,

Yes, I am using Hostgator. What's weird is I had no issues with another site I built using SEOPressor on Hostgator, but these last two have had the same issue. Oh well, I'm fine with making the entire sentence h1, h2, or h3.

Thanks for the workaround method. I'll go with that one since it is all about the seo.

Can't possibly be a hosting problem because you and I had the same problem with the same plugin and I am self-hosted on my own dedicated server.

On occasion when I've had WP go crazy on me, I pasted the html code onto notepad then delete that post in WP. Then copy the html from notepad and paste it back into WP. Usually that works

I had to deactivate the plug in for the same reason, but it cost me $65 and two hours on the phone to figure out the issue.

You can actually create great ranking content without the plugin if you've used it enough to figure out how it operates.

I've made a cheat sheet of the necessary items to create a great SEO post.

But, here is one good tip of advice - if you are just trying to build traffic and ranking for a blog ... Michelle McPhearson just proved that you can post more often with little SEO work on the content and produce more traffic with a better rank, than trying to create each post to be perfectly optimized.

My SEO cheat sheet if you want it ....

Just make sure you have the following in place if you want a decent SE optimized post:

              1. h1, h2, and h3 sub headings with your keyword
              2. alt tag in image with keyword.
              3. rel no follow tag for ext links.
              4. 3% keywords through out content.
              5. 300 words or so.
              6. keyword in title.
              7. keyword in first sentence.
              8. keyword in last sentence.

              That's pretty much it.

I've practiced enough and was able to score 85% to 90% without having the SEOPressor Plugin checking the post content. After saving the post, I got the score.

I don't need the plugin and you probably don't need it either.

At first, I was pretty sold on the plugin for the fact that it checked my work for me.

I'm not so sold on this plug in any longer.

Thumbs down for the SEOPressor for slowing down my blog.

My ranking went down this last week and I'm sure it was probably because of the speed. Google likes fast loading sites.
