Any vbulletin users out there?

I have a forum, I've had it for a while but I'm STILL learning how to use everything vbulletin software has to offer.

What I want to do is change the status icons next to the forums that stand for new post, no new posts, replied, etc.

I did some research but all the info I came across was extremely vague. The best thing I could find was people saying to change the /images/statusicon folder to images/mynewstatusicon folder with all the new images in it.

That doesn't tell me squat really. I don't necessarily want to change every single status icon, I want to change them individually.

Isn't there somewhere in stylevars or something where I can just change the URL path of each individual status icon displayed?

Vbulletin is great but it's a real PITA.

I can't imagine all the coding the admins had to do for all the functionality in this forum.

Anyways, anyone know of an easy way to change individual status icons in vbulletin?

    Easy way?

Find the icon you want to change and find out the full path by right clicking and viewing image or view properties (depending on what browser you are using)

    So site.com/images/name.jpg or whatever

Make your new image and upload to same spot with same filename.

    Do the next one.

Ahh crap I knew someone was going to say that

That really is the easiest way to go though isn't it.

I should probably just backup the whole images/statusicon folder, and just re-upload the whole thing and overwrite if I screw the thing up. <--- Sound right?

Ya I would back up the images in case you want to revert back.

That'll work. As long as you have a backup nothing can go wrong. I would have told you to do the exact same as Aaron did, but he beat me to it. haha

It's too bad I was hoping there was a simple plug-in or attachment that would do it. But even those don't seem to make anything easier.

Well, you could just create a new theme for the vbulletin forum, and include those icons and easily revert back and forth if you wanted.
