I hate wordpress so much, it looks so bad and sloppy. Hate it.

Anyway, your site expands in my browser, I am using firefox. There is a scroll bar at the bottom of the browser and I would have to scroll left to right in order to see everything on the side. Do you have a fixed width for the site or something?

Page seems blank. Is it under construction or you just decided to take it off.

Wordpress is not bad at all, easy to set-up and tons of very useful application that could help you save lots and lots of hours!

    LeonT,

The site looks MUCH better now. I just came back to check. I guess you were working on a couple things last time I viewed the site. I think you're coming along quite well. IT looks pretty good now!

    Hi,

You're on the right track BUT you need to spicy it up a notch.

Try to make the header picture blend in nicer (maybe even have them as polaroids and "post" them on the header, on an angle < different for each picture). Example

Try to add like a gradient or a gloss effect to the header.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks,
    Alex

Your website looking good but your font style is not looking standard, it is large. Use standard fonts to the contents.

I like the content. My feeling is that font type & size is a little too clunky. Maybe you should use the same font & size as in the discussion forum - consistency throughout the site.

I think the content of the page is nice, I found it a bit tricky to get an overview of what is actually there. For example on the articles page, all articles are ordered chronologically without an index to find articles quickly (as on the video page). I found the font to be a bit too big. I am using a small notbook and can't see the whole dowp down menues navigation on the index due to the big font size. The right column below the log-in seems a bit disorganized, e.g. there is a categories navigation far down on the right that is a bit difficult to find.

This is really good. I love the logo! The black and red is quite nice too. Maybe bring the font down just a little in size that is in the 'Join Now' box. I like the thesis theme look. Really nice website.

    Very well done.

Having just finished a membership site on public speaking, I know how much work this can be.

My only criticism is the back ground - it is kind of a washed out gray. And the header graphic shows to the right couples in plain clothing practicing.

Try to use a little more color on the background. And because the eye is drawn to every picture, and you want to convey the suggestion of "be part of this course and become like these couples..." I would suggest having pictures of well dressed couples dancing in the header. After all, that is what we all want - to dance in public looking great!

    Again, great job.

I love your logo! The overall header, I'm lukewarm about. (But that's personal preference...)

If it were my site, I would want to make the design even more dramatic by making the following changes:

I would drop the .com from the header image and put "Passion for" on one line and "Dancing" on next, indented somewhat and moved to the right to put some space between the text and the logo. For the capital letters on Passion and Dancing, I'd use a font with flowing lines to compliment the dancers in the logo. And I'd remove the three photos from the header altogether. (On a large screen like mine, the images are about the size of a postage stamp.)

Whether or not Passion4Dancing.com is the legal name of the business, I would put it on one line in smaller text, along with the tagline, like this:

      Dancing Made Easy... Passion4Dancing.com

For the body background, I'd use a gradient that fades from Black at the top to very dark gray. The image need only be one or two pixels wide and just the height of the gradient. Then set to the image to repeat horizontally ( css attribute--background-repeat:repeat-x; ) I'd then make the body background color the same as the dark gray in the gradient. (the blackish background will make a very dramatic presentation. After all, passion is a dramatic emotion.)

That's all I'd change if it were my site. But remember, it's all subjective. What appeals to me, isn't going to appeal to everybody else. So follow your gut instinct. It's your site, it needs to reflect you.

As for the width, font size of the menu and so on, I'd recommend you sign up for Google Analytics and put the code in your footer (if you haven't already.) After a couple of weeks, go check out screen sizes under Visitors. The longer the sample time, the better representation you'll get, but before you make changes based on one person having trouble with the sizes, find out what your visitors are seeing.

If the majority of your visitors have wide screens and high resolutions, you won't want to change your fixed width, or menu font sizes. My monitor is "true hd" (1920x1080) and the menu is perfect for me.

On the other hand, if the majority of your visitors are using smaller resolutions, you may want to rethink the menu font size. As for the width, I wouldn't go with a smaller width unless most of you visitors have screens widths of less than 1152. (I tried 1024 but it cuts off slightly on the right.) And then you should consider using a fluid width that can accommodate both the smaller and higher resolution screens.

Overall, the site looks really good. Clean, easy to navigate, lots of good information. The red and white on black is very dramatic, and the logo is evocative of both dance and passion. If you don't change anything from the way it is today, it's still a good-looking site.

      Respectfully,
      -Anita
