I just finished designing my sites template and was looking to get some feedback on the style, colors, and anything else.

    The only thing I'd change is I'd make the site taller - on my screen the design is barely more than half the height and the rest is white space. (perhaps you're already planning this)

    Other than that I like it - very clever design!

    Your site looks so simple and fun. The Bg color is no good but you will have better looks with grey bricks. I am sure, when you put a little more content then the site impression will improve. Thanks

    I like the concept, but just a thought - will people want to use a service by someone who seems unnsuccessful (ie a bum)...I like the irony but it might be lost on some people? Just a thought

      What? The name of the site is traffic bum, it fits the whole concept?

      Anyway, the design, its okay. I don't like seeing unfinished sites because, well, I just don't like them.

      I think you have a good idea going on here, and I think people will dig it. However, seeing what you have now, it makes me wonder how you're going to pull this off? I don't see this being huge or even very good with the current layout. I think it looks cool, don't get me wrong. I just think that it needs something that isn't there. I think you're going to need cleaner pages, and I think chris the traffic bum needs to be higher on the page.

      I look at the page, and I see the image on the bottom of the page. That isn't good, thats the first thing I look at and it is then at the end of the page. I think you should have it on the upper left hand side, with content on the right, or in the box or however you want to pull it off.

      Change the overall color scheme to blues. Have that lil' dude looking more casual. Frankly the way he looks now... well, let's say I don't see him as a successful guy. Brown clothing with patches on the elbows...

      Try this: blue color scheme, white text area, dark gray footer, dude dressed up differently (atleast make his suite black or dark gray).

    I like this! I think it's an original idea. I know you will probably be putting more copy here in the future, but as a start it is good. Did you draw the traffic bum yourself? I like the ears.

    Some suggestions: I would have more contrast in the design. Maybe put some shadows into the sides of the bum, and the top banner too. The type on the bottom (what Chris is saying) could be maybe 1-2 points bigger. You could add more bricks too.

    It also would not hurt to have all the navigation type line up at the bottom, because it is already kind of uneven and looks bum-like, but would look neater lined up. You also could make the left to right measurement a bit bigger (move the bum and title to the left.)

    You have a great start. This could be a fun site, too. Thanks for letting me see it!

    Both designs are great, but I really like the second one a lot. The colour scheme in the first one doesn't appeal to me as much as the second one.

    So the second one looks awesome and gets my vote, nice job!

      Nice! We're getting there! Now, try to remove the optin form background from the header, use sans sherif fonts for the logo. Join Now button should be green or orange. Read more button should be black or very dark blue and high gloss. They all blend a bit too much now and you need an accent color. A good proportion is 70/20/10 when creating your color scheme. 70% should be the main color, 20% should be the secondary color and 10% should be the accent.

      In your case:
      - light blue 70% (eg. page background)
      - dark blue 20% (header and maybe footer)
      - orange or green 10% (buttons)
      Use of white/black and grays doesn't count as colors as far as they don't occupy a significant amount of space (if you make your header gray, than gray is going to be part of your color scheme. If you make the footer gray than it's not part of the color scheme < but that's really too much to explain in a topic...)
