got stuck changing from blog posts on home page to static home page wordpress

Hi all,
I'm in the process of changing my blog from showing new posts on my Home page to showing them on my Post pages. I've done part of it, but seem stuck on a couple of things.

I created a new "POST" page and the tab is showing up on my navigation tab.

I created a "My Home" page that right now is blank (which it should be) - and that tab is also showing on my navigation correctly.

Flexibility3 is my theme and my website is:
Resources for Internet Marketing, Personal Development and successful living

I've been able to change my settings under "reading" under settings so that my new home page is "my home" and my old one is still "home". They are both still showing and I'm trying to get rid of the default "home" page.

I've gone into the "header.php" code under "edit themes" and finally located the wp_list_pages but I'm not sure of what code to change to make the default home page go away. I know it's got to be around here somewhere...

The second part of this is that my new "Post" page which is now showing properly on the navigation bar, takes me to my host's parked domain page for my blog which I've never wanted.

I've called my host 3 times to fix this and each time they have, but it doesn't last. I've cleared my cache each time but don't know how to get my posts permanently back to the post page. (They're still in there somewhere!)

I also noticed that my contact page has become discombobulated and I need to fix that as well. It was working fine a few days ago.

Thanks for any assistance to resolve this!
Deb

Is your old home page in the trash? If so, get rid of it.

In your Settings>Reading screen you need to define which page your blog posts should appear on - select 'Posts' from the drop down menu against 'Posts Page', and make sure you've set up Posts as a blank page.

You also need to populate your 'My Home' page, if that one is to be your new Home page. If there's a static page also called 'Home' you can delete that one in your Pages screen.

If you did all that then the other possibility is, if you're using a plugin like Redirection, try deactivating it. I had a similar problem and it turned out that Redirection got its nickers in a twist and was redirecting stuff all over the place. Deactivating it and reactivating it did the trick.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

@Wachito, Thanks for replying, but my old home page is wordpress's default one and does not show up in my pages list to edit. I don't know how to delete it other than by adjusting the php code somehow in my editor under "headings" and I don't know how to do that yet. I'm open to further suggestions.

@Abledragon - Thanks so much for your response as well. So... I've set up the posts page to be the one where my blog posts are supposed to go and have not made any changes to that blank page as I set it up.

The blog posts do not show up there. Instead the Posts page turns out to be a hostmonster domain parking page for my primary domain:
www. deb bauer dot com (no spaces) I used to have a add on domain as being
www. deb bauer dot com / blog (no spaces) but had deleted it about a week or so ago because of this problem.
That add on domain also shows up as being parked in the address bar, but the page title is my primary domain. I will deal with this part through Hostmonster. Again. Sigh.

I am more interested now in solving the two home pages, if I can.

When I have the two home pages showing on the nav tabs, they are both identical and blank, ready to add content. When I delete the new My Home page (since I haven't figured out how to delete the old one), I get an "Oops" error message plus a clickable list of my recent blog titles. I'd love to have that table of contents on my new MY Home page, but don't know how to make that stick around.

The blog posts, however, are not showing on any pages when there are two home pages.

If I remove one of the home pages, the blog posts show up again on my old home page and my post page remains the parked domain page with no blog posts - just the hostmonster generated ads.

The choices I've made on my reading page are set to static page for a new home page (named My Home to not be more confusing)

I don't have the plugin you mention. My list is:

      All in One SEO pak
      All in One SEO Importer
      Server Buddy
      Onlywire for wordpress official
      WP Ezine Articles
      Contact form 7
      Really simple captcha

after posting this reply, will be checking with hostmonster re: solving the parking problem. Will post results when I get them.

      Thanks again for your help.
