Main Directory?

If I have multiple products on one domain eg: www.yourdomain.com/product1 , www.yourdomain.com/product2 etc etc What should I put in the main directory www.yourdomain.com/ ? What goes in the root directory? I am worried about people being able to go in and be able to go into the main page and download the files for each product... Hope that makes sense Cheers Em

    Put there a simple index.html file.
    It could be just an empty page... although why not have a link to all your products.

    As a general rule: never have a directory without an index file!

      So if I put a index html file will I have to put a CSS and image file in there also? What I was thinking was just having some text ""whoops! your here by accident, but while your here check out our other sweet pages.... and then the links underneath" Em

        Whether you need a CSS file and images, too... depends on your design.

        I wouldn't say anything about being there by accident: the root of your domain (i.e. what is shown when somebody goes to example.com) is your MAIN address. Treat is accordingly!
