How do I Upload a Website to My Server?

Hey Folks,

As you probably no by my headline I'm not a techie, I can install a blog
and add new themes and plugins no problem, using Filzilla.

But when I try to upload a website it doesn't seem to work, what do I need to do differently? I would normally pay someone to upload this but I'm on a tight budget to get this project up and running and can't really afford it.

So I thought I would do it myself, but I do need help so if anyone can give me any pointers that would be a big help.

    If you already did install WP using filezilla and/or uploaded themes and plugins... you should know by know everything you need to know.

    I don't understand which part doesn't work for you?

    Are you trying to upload the "site" to an empty domain? Or...?
    And what "site" means in this context?

      This is a new website which was made using WP, and I need to install it on a new domain, I no how to install WP using fantastico, but this is a brans new site on a new domain.

      Is it the same process to upload a site as it is to upload a new theme?
      I did try to upload the site to the public html folder of the new to main in my ftp, but that didn't work.

    Try to give enough info if you want useful answer(s).

    You bought a WP site, right?
    Did you buy the domain, too?
    Or are you installing it on another domain that you own?
    (for either case: is the domain active and the DNS data set as required?)
    Did you get the WP files AND the database backup as well? Or you just bought an empty site, i.e. the theme?

    You need to upload all the WP files and folders to the public_html AND to import the database file into the database you created for this new site.
