Indian Takeaway Website Help Required!

Hey, my dad recently bought a property and owns it as a business, he has decided to make it an indian food takeaway, and he wants me to make a website to rank well, I have done the keyword research, and is going to be very easy to rank, I have also registered the domain name, and got hosting for the exact name of the business.

Now, what I need help on is, in what way can I design the website for a fast food takeaway, all he wants on there is a homepage, a menu page, a contact us page, an about us page, and a page for content, such as reviews on the food he will make, I need advice on, whether installing wordpress will be a good bet, or having it designed in a different way, with seperate pages, I am stuck on this part, if anyone can help me on this, it would be a great help, if the wordpress approach for a fast food takeaway is good, then I can take that approach, if not, what else can I do to make it rank also, as the content page will be keyword based, as well as food name based.

If anyone also has any nice themes for wordpress, for an indian takeaway website, I would greatly appreciate if you can get in contact with me, to discuss this further ...If anyone can offer to help me on this project too, it will be great, but I cant pay too much for the services. Let me know with whatever you can ...Thanks and Best Regards...

Well, my minimum charge would be $300, which is what you would fit into for the site.

I don't think wordpress would be best, but if that is all you can do, it is better than nothing!

All I really want is a website with 5 pages in total, with different parts, it doesnt even have to be really proffessional, as long as the menu is displayable on the menu page, and the contact number on there, then that would be more than enough, the seo work I can do, and ranking, just the initial design work, and setting up the pages properly is all I need help with, Wordpress would work, but there are no nice themes to use, that look like an ordinary website, not really looking for a blog feeling lol

There are tons of themes that look like 'ordinary' websites - that's why Wordpress is so flexible. Take a look at themeforest.net for starters.

use wordpress, there are tons of themes.
I think there is even a recipe plugin for added attraction.

They don't have to look like blogs, I've used WP for sites that you would have no clue were WP sites. Just learn the difference between pages and posts.
Get some pictures together and do it yourself or hire someone to make a collage type header out of them with your store name on it. Then scatter pictures throughout your content to keep the excitement going.
It's really not that hard to change out images in themes to get the desired look.

Thanks for the tips guys! I am going to go with wordpress, its just that I read the post on the forum about wordpress theme websites being encoded with malicious links and texts, and want to be very careful not to get the wrong ones! This is why I was wondering if theres any websites or sources who have great quality themes that look like a website, one of the pages can be like a blog, where new articles and posts will be put up regularly for customers to read about. If anyone can guide me to a source for nice quality themes, I dont mind paying a fee for them also, but efficiently want to save money too.

Well as long as you don't have any enemies you will be okay! Wordpress is the easiest to hack CMS there is, but for your purposes you would be okay.

I dont really want to hack it, I just need help with finding a nice theme, Ill even pay for it, just so I can plug it into wordpress, and then start working on the content myself.

Hassan - I'd go with WordPress too as that's what I use for just about all the static websites I build today.

You can do a lot with the new default 2010 theme if you can change the header and background, but if you can spare $30 - $40, do yourself a favor and spend some time at theme forest to find a nice theme. They've got plenty just for restaurants, (just noticed that list includes html templates and other things - those are not all WP templates), but spend a few minutes searching and almost any theme there could be made to work for a restaurant website.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Hassan, how did you get on with this? I was looking to get an Indian Takeaway site along with a Chinese Takeaway. I would be interested to know if you managed to get it sorted.

    Cheers

Think it depends on whether or not you intend to build anymore sites after this one, if this is going to be a one off thing i'd just get someone else to build it.

if youre looking to continue web building after this one then it would seem that wordpress is a valid option for you, never used it myself so i cant really comment. Then if you are going to get serious about web building and this is just your first time, consider learning a programming language / structure, learning will be slower to begin with but in the end will pay off ten fold
