website account being throttled?

What message is this implying?

Web hosting plans include:

1. UNLIMITED Site Bandwidth

When i called hostmonster tech support the 1st time for a problem in connection with their server, very slow speed, cannot ftp worth $%*@#$%
always times out, cannot download a backup file on port 80 saving it to my hd it times out, etc...

They told me my account was being throttled here and there. My website was just brought online days ago. Also they told me that if i exceeded 8mbps i would be throttled.

The next 3 times i called hostmonster and asked about being throttled if i exceed 8mbps, all 3 representatives "LIED" to me saying they do not throttle accounts because of bandwidth usage.

I call again and then this rep agrees that my whole acct will be throttled if i exceed 8mpbs.

I am guessing that Hostmonster.com really sucks, from all of the lies i am getting from them. The tech support cannot tell me why I cannot ftp or do a simple port 80 download from my c-panel????

Hostmonster disgusts me.

      Get out of there. Hoping you didnt pay too much for the hosting account then just sign up with someone else.

    I strongly recommend not to use these "too cheap hosting companies" otherwise you will encounter these type of issues. Most of these companies are the resellers of the parent companies and in order to win the customer base, they try to sell it very cheap. I guess, we should look for a reasonable hosting company so that we should forget worrying about the hosting issues and concentrate on our business.
