Why are people so cheap? I don't mean any offense, but how can you expect to have a successful website and make money if you aren't willing to put money into it yourself?

It is completely true. Until one makes some investments, you cannot expect everything going on your way. Free hosting are only for names, they have many demerits.

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, many newbies, and even seasoned pros, see things like hosting, domains and even mailing list services all as EXPENSES rather than an investment in their business, themselves and their future.

HOWEVER, on the opposite side of the coin, some people just need all the help they can when they are first starting out, so, I can also under why some may want, or even genuinely NEED free services when first starting out...

BUT (LOL) with the pricing of hosting being so low now a days, I am still amazed at how many people do not want to dish out $5, $6 or hell, even say $10 per month but yet will spend hundreds on specialty blends or cigarettes or 12 sweaters for "shnookums" (their feline/canine friend) or {you name it}.

This really is a touchy subject as I can definitely see the why AND the why not, LOL...

NOTE: angelguy, in no way am I singling you out for ANYTHING I said, it is simply an overall observation, nothing personal. As a few others have mentioned, your best course is to "google" the term "free hosting".

If you genuinely can not afford even $5 per month, an alternative solution would be to see if you have any friends or colleagues who would want to "split" the cost with you each month. 99% of hosts now a days offer the ability to host unlimited (or at the very least, multiple, domains).

By hosting 1 or 2 friends' personal websites for just $1 or $2 each month, you could have half your "INVESTMENT" recouped before you even sign up for the hosting account.
