Hey was just wondering whether there would be any way to find out if someone has stolen your sites CSS and if there is anything you can do?

    huh ?

How would you know whether your CSS is stolen. And there is nothing one can with it. It is better to write a new one.

And ANYONE can steal your CSS.

If you seen a site and you suspect its yours, try to view it's CSS and compare your CSS. If you wrote your CSS you would know it. if 80%-90% is the same with your css, it would be probably yours. But I think you can't have it back. Plus next time add some markings or copyright on your CSS, also use custom IDs and Class for both CSS and HTML

And what to do with your CSS if I don't have the correspondent HTML with the right div ids and classes and/or the image files the css is referring to?

Get Developers Toolbar for Firefox and you can see/open the CSS file of any site. Still, it doesn't make sense "stealing" it...

It takes almost zero skill to lift a design, layout, images, and css sheets - and make it look just different enough to pass muster. Happens all the time.

Its true. a site can be copied pretty easily - but what I have learned it to not worry about what other people are doing. It is better to concentrate on you and focus on what you are trying to accomplish.

I no longer worry about what other people maneuvers are... It serves no purpose

I wouldn't loose sleep over someone stealing my CSS, it just tells me how little skill they have.
Besides the fact that it would most likely take me less time to write it from scratch than it takes them to steal it and make it function properly in all browsers.

As for being able to tell, absolutely I could tell, if some took it just by reading the source code.
If its the same I would know it was mine.

Every experienced coder/programmer has a pattern in how they code things.
With that experience and repetition, they can recognise their code from other peoples code.
Layout, naming conventions, etc... all make for a recognisable pattern to the person that wrote it.
