Hi I've been getting an error recently that doesn't allow me to quickly upload my theme. Is there any way to do it manually as i have all the files I need?
The only alternative I have is to use dreamweaver and manually upload the files.

What's going on? Are you trying to use something like Fantastico and
it's not working? Or did you try the following and it didn't work?

    1. Don't touch any WP files with DW...
    2. To upload anything as normal people do it - use a FTP client like Filezilla.

Hi Istvan I'm getting this error to be precise...

Incompatible Archive. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

I think I may have a corrupt zip file but do you know an exact way to combat this?

you have to log-in to actual website hosting...

and do a manual file transfer.

There are times if you use right into wordpress it wont work just do the manual thing.

OK, here is another thing I never do: I never upload to my server any zipped theme or plugin.

It might take a few seconds longer but I am in control of every step and can see where a problem occured... if any. I download the zip file on my computer; I unzip it there; I upload the theme folder to the proper location (wp-content/themes/); I activate it in the admin panel.
You may think it takes longer than your automated gizmo... Maybe. However, I have never had any of the problems everybody else is complaining about when they get screwed up with automatic installations!

If you ever watched what is happening when you try to "automatically" upload a theme from inside your wp-admin panle - it goes through several steps:
    - connect to the download link of the theme hosting
    - download the zipped file
    - upload the zipped file to your hosting (requires that you give control over your FTP account to the script!)
    - unzip the files on your server
    - install the theme

If any of those steps goes wrong - you are out of luck.

Do yourself a favour and learn how to use a simple FTP software like Filezilla. It is free and there are tons of video tutorials on youtube and everywhere how to use it.

    Hello Friends......

Step 1: Download the installation file from the wordpress download section by clicking on "Download.zip" or "Download.tar.gz". This way you will get the latest stable release of the script.

Step 2: Upload it in public_html folder of your account. You can do that via FTP with a client like a filezilla or via cPanel ->File manager-> Upload file(s).This way, after the installation is completed, the file script will appear once you visit your website.

Step 3: When you are in cPanel -> File Manager, navigate to the uploaded file and extract it by clicking on "Extract".The other option is to extract the file in your computer and then to upload the content in the desired folder via FTP.

Step 4: Once the files are extracted in the desired folder, you should create a MySQL database for WordPress. You can do that from cPanel -> MySQL Databases. Detailed instructions how to do so can be found in our Mysql tutorial.

Step 5: Rename wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php and edit it. Fill in your database connection details in the following lines: define('DB_NAME', ''); // The name of the database
    define('DB_USER', ''); // Your MySQL username
    define('DB_PASSWORD', ''); // ...and password

Step 6: The installation procedure is finished. You can save the administrative username and the password. You will need them to access the WordPress installation admin backend in the future.

    Thanks
