Ideas on what to do with a domain name

Hi all. I have a domain name dream-creators [dot] com

The domain is around 3 years old now I think, and it ranks as No.1 on google for the search term "dream creators".

I have done a little key word analysis and found than 140 global searches a month and only 22 local searches.

The site was originally a web-design company but I am looking to get out of the business and use the page 1 ranking to launch a new business.

Any ideas on what kinda site could benefit from a domain name like this would be great.

Adam

You could promote it as a self help site. Sell affiliate products with Amazon, or even Clickbank. The domain will be more of a brand that way.

I doubt you'll make much money off of searches of "dream creators"

I agree with dialseo. 140 global searches is not really anything to base a business on. You'd be better off starting from scratch than trying to make that work.

Whatever you choose...just optimise it for the keyword you desire.

With Dream creators at only 140 searches....it probably won't get you much money, so you will probably have to pick something else yourself.

I wouldn't necessarily throw this one out, after all you have 3 years age on the site, which is worth something.

Although everyone talks about having the domain name as your main keyword, it isn't everything by any means and may become of less value as time goes on, purely because of the abuse by so many sites.

The question is more what would you like to do on the internet? Then see if that can tie in with this existing domain. As suggested a self-help site would integrate well with the name and it is quite easy to target far better keywords than the domain name one and rank these as pages of the site.

I'd do some more keyword research using "dream creators" as the starting point and thoroughly drill down using the Google keyword tool and see what comes up. Then look to see how you can monetise them, assuming that is what you wish to do.

Search Engine Optimization is not an easy process. It takes months, sometimes years to promote a single keyword. So choose your keywords and start promoting your keywords.

Are there tools I would use for this, or websites?
