Okay, to cut a long story short I was away on a visit too see the in-laws and rather than be sociable I dediced to lock myself away in a hotel room for the best part of a week.

The result is that I have around 150 articles saved on word and now I am trying to upload them to my websites the fonts do not work and the words are appearing very very small.

Does anyone now how to format every page so the font size and font itself are the same?

I would greatly appreciate any help as this is driving me up the wall!

If you are trying to upload those into a wordpress post, the font styles and font sizes are dictated by the style sheet (style.css). To keep the formatting consistent throughout, you do not add any html or other tags in the post itself, you depend solely on the original font settings.

Of course, if you want to make one word or phrase "bold" you will do that within the body of the post but for the actual fonts, that is done in the style sheet.

To fix the existing posts and get them back to "normal", you will need to remove all the formatting that you placed in the post. When you click on the post view in your dashboard, the text should be clean without html code. You could also just copy and paste your articles over the existing posts to get back to square one.

As Marigot points out, the way the fonts look depends on the theme. However, it's best to also paste Word documents into Notepad first, to clear the Word formatting, before adding them to your blog.

Rule #1: do NOT write WP blog posts in MS Word.
Rule #2: Always remember Rule #1.

Furthermore, if you didn't apply Rule #1 and #2... at least learn the tool you are using , called WordPress.

In the post creation subpanel where you input your content there is a little icon named "Kitchen sink" - just hover above the icons until you find it. Click on it and you will have a second row of icons.

There is one with a big W letter one it, and another one with a big T letter one it.
Study them, learn what they do and, most importantly, USE THEM!

I was aware the fonts look different depending on the theme and using the kitchen sink but neither seemed to help.

What did work was the Word to Notepad trick, eveything in full working order so thank you very much for that little trick.

Istvan - I will remember those rules for next time! especially number 2

The only time I let myself upload articles from Word to WordPress I do it in the html editor. You do need to add the editing yourself afterwards.

That being said, when you copy them from Notepad to WordPress you should be safe.

word adds meta data / information to the text - google "word doc meta data"

best practice is copy the text from word to "notepad"
copy and paste "notepad" then into wordpress or wysiwyg editor

then edit the content (minus the msword meta info)
