This is just in the interest of credit where it is due, and a resource with value here. For a few months now I've felt like posting about this each time a new issue comes out. For the short version, just go here. You can read the current edition of 'almost a newsletter' and sign up for a notification when the next one is online.

Almost a Newsletter from i-Webmaster.org and BoogieJack.com

If you feel like more detail, here are a few. An issue or 2 ago, I read about fieldsets. I hadn't heard of them but the example was neat and I pasted a few notes. (Copy and paste skills! Yessss )

Not long after they turned out to be the perfect thing for a customer's site.

Nearly every issue has something I appreciate. It is put out by Dennis Gaskill who posts a lot in the main forum. He wrote a text book on html hundreds of years ago that is still used by community colleges. (I might be a little fuzzy on the details. Haven't read it, just saw a few notes about it somewhere.) He has kept up with it (and related, like css and javascript) since.

He did have a thread dedicated to him in the off topic forum lately and another one might be enough to throw anyone's ego out of balance, but I'll have to let him handle that.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I've just been to just a few back pages on the site and did not get any background music. Or you saw a mention of how to do that and don't think that should be included in site design or html? You don't think anyone would want to use something like that? Or it's bad taste or something?

I've never seen him suggest you should use tables for layouts. (Not that I've read his stuff beyond the newsletter.) He is extremely good with css. But at least as far as I'm concerned tables do some neat things for layouts. There is a thread here from not long ago about 'divs or tables?' It went through that question in more detail.

I meant to change the OP a little this morning since I realized I made it sound like you would want to learn Latin to read the html book. That isn't actually the case. And I'm sure the newsletter is as current as anything else you might like to suggest.

The last issue had an update on html 5 which was interesting.
