Does the Optimize Press theme let you do tab-based navigation, say, at the top where you want to have links to some other pages?

In other words can you have a tab menu bar running along the top of the home page to link to other pages?

    Yes you can.

It will do it automatically, and you can customize it in the WordPress "Menus"....

      Thanks, Ed, appreciate that.

Can you also customize the background color? Seems like all the site examples I've seen using OptimizePress are all white with a white background.

You can definitely change the page background color.

          Ok. How?

I'd also like to know how to change the color of links. From what I understand by watching the OptimizePress tutorials, you can set it FOR NEW PAGES ONLY in the General Settings tab. But what about links that I made before I set the color? Some of them I could get by doing it manually, but the rest I can't get to because they are in sections generated by OptimizePress.

          Please help.

Can anyone tell me if OptimizePress is setup internally to display correctly to users of mobile devices?

I'm aware of external plugins that do this, up to a point, but what I need to find out if OptimizePress does the job absolutely correctly without any addon solutions.

Can you anyone show me how to do this? i been trying the whole day trying to figure this out. I'd like the different pages I created to still on the screen and not be taken to a complete new page.

    Thanks.

      Thanks.

It can be done through CSS.

      Open your styles.css file,

      look for #body

there should be a background element already with the value #FFFFFF (since you say its white), change it to whichever color you want.

To put an image, replace #FFFFFF with
      url('imagefolder/imagename.extension')
and then upload the image to the images folder of the theme which in your case would be wp-content/themes/optimizepress/images/

Why don't you watch all the videos that come with OptimizePress...?

They show you how to do just about everything in a simple, easy to learn manner.

Alexio, your site looks great! Such a crisp, clean look. Nicely done.

One more question for OptimizePress users (and then I'll shut up and just buy the thing):

Can you have all static pages except for one blog page? In other words, can you use it to build a static page website that also has a blog on it as one of it's pages?

          Hey Alex,

Your site look great, did you Otpmize Press to do this? How did you get the different tab to show up and stay on the same page. I been playing with their blog theme to work but couldn't figure it out.

          thanks.

Sure Billy you can do that.

I have a question about OptimizePress -- can you edit the width of the sales pages?

  • I've been thinking about OP too and I have question.

How well does it work with non-english site? Can you change text in the button etc.?

    Thanks in advance

    • winnie: its all done via the menus section in wordpress dashboard, i assume you mean the horizontal nav bar!

markus: you will have to create your own buttons for different languages!

Hey you guys. You DO NOT have to edit any css to have the menu bar appear on the top for OP!!! James Dyson made it really easy for us.

If you are making a Squeeze page, when you are making that page, first select which squeeze page template you want on the right column (in the gray). THEN, below where you actually wrote your page you will find some drop down menus. They might just be gray bars, but if you click on them, they expand. You will see that they say either "squeeze page" or "sales page," etc.

Just click on the one you are making and expand your options. That's where you'll add your video URL and you'll see that there's a "nav" option. If you click on that, it expands and you get the option to select "show nav bar." Then you get to select if you want it over your header or under it.

James has some awesome videos demonstrating every aspect of OP. I love the product and I'm not even an affiliate!

The template width is tricker though and you will have to do some coding. I know there's at least a skinny sales page template so just look at all your options first before you go coding, you might find what you need! Good luck!

Sir why is that, when i change the background in optimize press style.css (as i have seen in above conversation) it doesn't change in the SQUEEZE page that i created.

    Anyone knows why?

Hoping for your kind and helpful answers.

    Thanks All,

This will answer your question as this has come direct from James

      "
Unfortunately it is not possible to change the background color of the squeeze page templates in Optimize Press. This is because some of the templates use a full background image for the content area, and others we have found do not perform as well without the current background colors, and as Optimize Press is optimized for conversions, we want your sites to have the optimal conversion rates.

You do have the option to change the footer background color on some of our squeeze pages - to find the controls for this look in the on-page Squeeze Page Options under the "Template Color Selectors" tab

Please note you can of course change the background colors on your sales pages using the option inside the on page Sales page options - inside the "overall settings" tab. You can also set a background image there for any of your sales/launch pages"

I can highly recommend OP for all your marketing sites. James has recently updated to version 1.5 and it includes built in exit pops and more great features
