Quick question when making 'contact form' pages?

Still a newbie... had a small question about setting up a 'contact form' for my Contact Us Page.

If I create a page within my site with a contact form - one of the tabs obviously needs a 'reply to email'.

Now if that person types in a fake return email or accidently mispells his email, would there be a way to check this before I *waste* my time replying to his question?

If not is there a way around this?

If you use something like Wufoo for forms you can verify the email address.

Also... does anyone find it unprofessional if the contact page of a website you want to do business with didn't have a proper form but the email address written as "support [at] domain.com" ...to prevent spam issues?

Yes, this looks very unprofessional. The way around it is to use a graphic instead.

Fire up Photoshop and create a document with the same background color and font as your contact us page, and type out the address. Save it and place the graphic on the page. Voila. It's invisible to email scrapers.

To prevent spam, make sure you use form validation in your HTML AND (meaning "in addition to") use CAPTCHA or ReCAPTCHA for your form mail -- both are free. Go to tectite.com and learn a little bit about it.

You don't need a reply to email tab. You just need a contact tab and then insert the tag using contact form 7 which is the most popular contact form plugin. You can add a capchta when you configure the form and place the tag anywhere on your site.
